Moonrise over Eagle Colorado

I was in Eagle, CO to scout for an up coming project for The Milano Hat Company. This was the third day I was in Eagle and Dan, the outfitter I was using for this project, & I were sitting outside enjoying the evening.

I had identified several locations I wanted to shoot and I needed to know what time of day was best for each one of them. I had been up at 5 am to be able to look at how the light was going to develop in the morning so I could determine where I needed to be and how long I could spend before moving to the next location... chasing the light. The sun had been down about 10 minutes and Dan said, "look Steve." I turned my head & I could just see the top of the moon cresting over the mountain. Well I leaped up out of the chair I had seconds before thought I was going be able to relax in for a good while & commenced to hunt the closest camera and lens. I started to shoot & realized the lens I had on was too slow so I ran back I pulled my 200 f1.8 lens & started to shoot some more. Well it was too short so I then streaked back into the house & pulled out my 400mm f2.8 lens and it was just right.

Shot with a Canon Professional Digital Camera & a 400mm f2.8 IS Canon lens set at f2.8 and 1/80 second, hand held set in RAW mode & processed in Photoshop.
